Veron off to Chelsea - reports

Manchester United midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron is on his way to Chelsea, according to reports.

The 28-year-old Argentinian cost United £28.1m (€40.6m) two years ago but is set to join billionaire Russian Roman Abramovich’s Blues for a cut-price £14m (€20.2m).

Abramovich has already agreed terms of around £6.5m (€9.4m) with Real Madrid for midfielder Geremi and looks certain to clinch the signing of West Ham defender Glen Johnson for another £6m (€8.7m).

Veron has never really settled at Old Trafford although manager Alex Ferguson has always had faith in the World Cup star.
