Howard has high hopes for Old Trafford
Manchester United-bound goalkeeper Tim Howard is determined to seize his once-in-a-lifetime chance and has pledged to do all he can to make himself a better player once he arrives at Old Trafford.
The United States goalkeeper Howard, currently playing for New York/New Jersey MetroStars, is set to complete a move to Manchester once he has secured a work permit.
âItâs great for me. I just need to get there and work harder,â said Howard of his transfer to United.
âI need to continue to improve myself. I am just so happy; itâs been a long time. I feel fortunate. Not many people get this opportunity that has been given to me.â
Howardâs current club coach Bob Bradley praised the playerâs attitude and wished him well.
âTimmyâs handled his end great. It played itself out, pretty much as we all thought. In the end, what we say is that we are excited for him,â he said.
âThis is an unbelievable opportunity, and he has earned it. The fans have had a chance to see him grow into one of the best players in the league; a player who has shown maturity, has been a leader, and has given everybody a lot with some of the unbelievable saves that he has made.â
