Everton - No contact over Rooney

Everton have dismissed speculation linking Wayne Rooney with a £30m (€43.5m) move to Chelsea.

Since the arrival last week of new Stamford Bridge owner, multi-billionaire Roman Abramovich, the Blues have reportedly been chasing a host of star names across Europe.

But Everton are unlikely to listen to any offers for their 17-year-old striker as head of corporate affairs Ian Ross said: “We are not surprised about any interest in Wayne Rooney.

“There has been no contact at the moment and (manager) David Moyes is trying to build a team here, not dismantle it.”
