Blues salvage point with late goal
Waterford United 1 UCD 1
Wayne Fitzgerald rescued Blues with a last gasp equaliser Waterford scarcely deserved at the RSC.
UCD had the best opening of the first half when Alan McNally headed wide from Hugh Davey's corner and deservedly took the lead five minutes after the break.
Blues hadn't heeded the warning and McNally was left all alone to blast from another Davey corner.
UCD suffered a set back on the hour, though, when midfielder Mick O'Donnell was sent off for dissent, his second bookable offence.
Blues chased the game hard late on and got their reward three minutes into stoppage time.
PJ Banville made the opening when crossing for Fitzgerald who finished well with the last kick of the game four minutes into stoppage time.
