Waterford made it a hat-trick of wins to go second in the table.

Jimmy McGeough's newly promoted Blues ran up a 2-0 lead by half-time as UCD slumped to a four defeat on the spin.

Blues led from the 16th minute when Gary O'Neill shot home the rebound after UCD keeper Patrick Jennings failed to hold a drive from Vinny Sullivan.

A right mix-up gifted Blues their second goal on 44 minutes as Hugh Davey's back header looped over keeper Patrick Jennings to enter the net for an own goal.

UCD hit back int eh second half with Robbie Martin scoring on 52 minutes but Blues held out for another big win.
