Fulham begin search for new boss
Fulham today began the search for a new manager after Jean Tigana was informed his contract would not be renewed at the end of the season.
The future of the 46-year-old Frenchman has been the subject of much speculation given his failure to bring the success craved by chairman Mohamed Al Fayed, who has spent millions taking the club into the Barclaycard Premiership.
Tigana guided the Cottagers into the top flight two years ago after taking charge in the summer of 2000.
Despite going on to reach the FA Cup semi-finals and qualifying for Europe via the Intertoto Cup, Fulham’s league form has been disappointing, especially given the substantial transfer budget Tigana had at his disposal during the early part of his reign.
