Manchester United have drawn Spanish giants Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Manchester United have been paired with Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of this season’s Champions League.

Alex Ferguson’s men will be away to the Spanish giants – nine-times winners of the competition – in the first leg of the double header, on April 8/9, with the return taking place at Old Trafford on April 22/23

There was a strong feeling at Old Trafford that United would face Real, European champions in three of the last five years and the current holders, who booked their place in the last eight on Tuesday with a 1-0 win over Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia.

Champions League quarter-final draw:

Real Madrid v Man Utd.

Inter Milan v Valencia

Ajax v AC Milan

Juventus v Barcelona

First legs to be played April 8/9.

Second leg to be played April 22/23.

Semi-finals draw:

Real Madrid or Man Utd v Juventus or Barcelona

Ajax or AC Milan v Inter Milan or Valencia

First legs to be played May 6/7.

Second legs to be played May 13/14.

Final - May 28, Old Trafford.
