Missing Cork man, Patrick 'Patsy' O'Sullivan, who vanished 34 years ago, has been found dead.

Mr O'Sullivan, who was 35-years-old at the time of his disappearance, was last seen by his family in Lombardstown in Mallow on the Easter Bank Holiday weekend in April, 1992.

Prior to his disappearance, the young man was known to travel for work for weeks at a time, but would always maintain contact with his family, and return periodically.

At the time of his vanishing, he had been working in county Kerry.

He was due to return home for a Christening a few weeks later, but failed to turn up at the event.

Throughout the years following his disappearance, efforts were made collaboratively by members of An Garda Síochána and Mr O'Sullivan's family to locate the Mallow native.

The case of his disappearance was also shared on RTÉ's Crimecall on a number of occasions, including last year, when he would have been 68-years-old.

It is now understood that Mr O'Sullivan has been found dead abroad, with his family informed of the discovery.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said they are "not in a position to provide any further detail".
