Irish U19 squad makes five changes
The Irish Under-19 squad has made five late changes for the four-team tournamnet in Oport in Portugal this week.
New Irish manager Sean McCaffrey - Brian Kerr's replacement - makes the changes to his 18-strong panel and will bring tou four the number of home-based players in the squad.
Called in to make the trip are Neil McCafferty (Charlton Athletic), Michael Timlin (Fulham), Robbie Shields (Leeds United), Willie Doyle (Bohemians) and Mark Yeates (Tottenham Hotspur).
They replace David Bell (Rushden and Diamonds), Richie Ryan (Sunderland), Alan O’Brien (Newcastle United), Karl Bermingham (Manchester City) and Paul Murphy (Manchester City).
The inclusion of Wille Doyle of Bohemians brings to four the number of home-based players in the squad.
Doyle joins up with Kevin Deery (Derry City), Paddy Mulvihill (Longford Town) and John Flood (Bray Wanderers)
The Republic will play Belgium on Wednesday and will face Norway the following day. Their final game will be against the host nation Portugal on Saturday.
The revised squad is: Tim Ditmer (Liverpool), Colin Doyle (Birmingham City), Kevin Deery (Derry City), Kevin Cronin (Leeds United), Pierre Ennis (Aston Villa), Tim Clancy (Millwall), Henry McStay (Leeds United), Killian Brennan (Peterborough United), Paul Keegan (Leeds United), Stephen Bradley (Arsenal), Danny Byrne (Manchester United), Neil McCafferty (Charlton Athletic), Paddy Mulvihill (Longford Town), Michael Timlin (Fulham), John Flood (Bray Wanderers), Robbie Shields (Leeds United), Willie Doyle (Bohemians), Mark Yeates (Tottenham Hotspur).
