Cole had hernia op

England and Arsenal full-back Ashley Cole has undergone surgery on a hernia and will miss several weeks of the Gunners’ bid to repeat their Premiership and FA Cup double success of last season.

Cole aggravated the injury during the Champions League draw with Ajax in Amsterdam last night.
