Ferguson: Becks injury was 'a freak'

Alex Ferguson has tonight admitted causing an injury to midfielder David Beckham.

Beckham was left nursing a cut to his head after he was hit by a boot kicked by Ferguson following the 2-0 defeat by Arsenal in the FA Cup fifth round at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Ferguson said the incident was: “One of those freak acts of nature that happens and then it’s over. It was a freak, it will never happen again.”
