Healy partnering Quinn up front for the North

Northern Ireland manager Sammy McIlroy was looking for a boost tonight in this warm-up game ahead of the Euro 2004 qualifiers against Armenia and Greece.

McIlroy was hoping that his side would end their goal drought, stretching back five games.

David Healy, who has rediscovered his scoring touch after moving to Norwich from Preston on loan, was recalled to the team and partnered James Quinn up front.

The Irish were without four key players – Gerry Taggart, Colin Murdock, Kevin Horlock and Phil Mulryne – through either injury or illness.

Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen was in the Finland starting line-up ahead of Southampton’s Antti Niemi. The team was captained by Liverpool’s Sami Hyypia.
