The British Premier League have revealed that West Ham signed Lee Bowyer for a mere £100,000 (€150,000).

The governing body released its transfer records for the week, showing that Bowyer moved from Leeds for considerably less than the originally predicted £500,000 (€760,000) fee.

The fee is therefore 18 times less than the £9m (€13m) which Liverpool valued the midfielder at less than a year ago.

A considerable bonus is believed to have been built into the terms of his contract however should he help West Ham survive relegation this year.
