Manchester United have taken a two-goal lead against First Division leaders Portsmouth in the third round of the FA Cup.

Ruud van Nistelrooy opened the scoring from the spot in the fifth minute after Ryan Giggs was pulled down in the box.

And David Beckham made it two in the 17th minute from a free-kick just outside the box after Gary Neville was pulled down.
