Bournemouth have signed a second goalkeeper in as many days after securing the services of Southampton’s Alan Blayney on a month’s loan.

Cherries manager Sean O’Driscoll had agreed a month-long deal with former Brighton keeper Andy Petterson 24 hours earlier but he moved quickly to strengthen his squad further following a serious injury to regular number one Gareth Stewart.

Stewart is likely to be out for two months with a broken leg and Chris Tardif, who was on loan from Portsmouth to replace the out-of-action stopper, has also been sidelined after suffering concussion against Hull last weekend.
