Coventry have extended the stay of Liverpool's young Irish winger Richie Partridge.

The club have also signed Newcastle midfielder Brian Kerr on a month’s loan.

Liverpool have agreed to let the 22-year-old Partridge stay at Highfield Road for the rest of the season.

Partridge has been a vital member of the Coventry side since joining in late September and netted a superb goal in last night’s 1-1 draw with Nationwide One promotion rivals Norwich.

Scottish Under-21 international Kerr turned professional on a three-year deal at St James’ Park in September 2000, but his appearances have been limited because of a serious shoulder injury.

The 21-year-old has made just one first-team appearance - as substitute - for the Magpies this season, but could feature for the Sky Blues squad in Saturday’s game against Walsall.
