Allardyce: No decision on Tofting

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce insists midfielder Stig Tofting’s future with the club is still being reviewed.

The Denmark international was sentenced to four months in prison yesterday on an assault charge relating to an incident in a Danish cafe in June.

Tofting’s agent Karsten Aabrink insisted Wanderers were definitely 'standing by' the player, but Allardyce said the club were still deciding their position.

He told BBC Sport Online: "I’m not saying anything about that at the moment.

"Stig only got back this morning so we have not had a chance to talk to him yet."

Tofting is expected to train and play with Bolton in the two weeks permitted for him to consider whether to appeal against his sentence.
