Bolton midfielder Stig Tofting was today jailed for four months after being found guilty of assault at a Copenhagen restaurant.

The 33-year-old Danish international was told his fate by the City Court in Copenhagen.

He was found guilty of attacking the manager of the Cafe Ketchup after a night out with fellow international players following the squad’s return from the World Cup.

1969: Born Aarhus, August 14

1990: Made debut for home-town team.

1994: After 95 games for Aarhus, joins German Bundesliga side Hamburg, for whom he plays just eight games for before moving back to Aarhus.

1997: Moved to German side Duisburg, playing 69 games in less than three years.

2002: Joined Bolton from Hamburg.
