Givens forced into two changes to U-21 squad

Republic of Ireland manager Don Givens has been forced to make two changes in his squad of 18 players for the Euro 2004 qualifier against Switzerland at Buckley Park, Kilkenny, next Tuesday, October 15, 2002 (kick-off 7.30 p.m.).

Republic of Ireland manager Don Givens has been forced to make two changes in his squad of 18 players for the Euro 2004 qualifier against Switzerland at Buckley Park, Kilkenny, next Tuesday, October 15, 2002 (kick-off 7.30 p.m.).

Gary Dempsey (Dunfermline) and goalkeeper Graham Stack (Beveren) have pulled out because of injury and are replaced by eircom League player John O’Flynn (Cork City) and Barry Roche (Nottingham Forest).

O’Flynn had been on stand-by and was one of four players called up for training with the squad.

Another eircom League player Ken Oman from Bohemians has been called up for training now that O’Flynn has made it into the squad.
