Derry go through to last eight

Derry City 3 Waterford United 0

Derry hit form to earn their first home win of the season and book their place in the last eight of the FAI Cup.

The game was all but over within 16 minutes as Derry raced into their matchwinning three goal lead.

Midfiedler Ciaran Martyn was instrumental in Derry's first two goals, setting up Sean Friars to shoot home the first on eight minutes.

Two minutes later Martyn again did the spade work before ex-Irish international David Kelly hit his first goal for the club.

Garry Beckett then added the third to kill off Blues four minutes later.
