Butler signs new deal with Sunderland

Sunderland’s Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Thomas Butler has signed a new three-year contract.

The 21-year-old, whose previous deal expired at the end of June, has committed himself to the Black Cats until the summer of 2005 after protracted negotiations finally drew to a close.
