Leeds and United scrap noon deadline

Manchester United and Leeds have agreed to scrap the noon deadline for the transfer of Rio Ferdinand to Old Trafford, according to a report.

Elland Road chairman Peter Ridsdale had insisted on the deadline after receiving an offer way short of his valuation of the England defender.

However, according to Sky Sports News, Ridsdale is currently locked in talks with Old Trafford chief executive Peter Kenyon.
