Rio Ferdinand has revealed the torment he went through before submitting his transfer request to Leeds United.

The 23-year-old defender has been the subject of intense speculation surrounding a move to Manchester United and after nearly a week of deliberation, Ferdinand today submitted a request to leave Elland Road.
