Allardyce admits he's heading West

Taribo West could be set to return to the Premiership.

The Nigerian defender could link up with international team-mate Jay Jay Okocha after being targeted by Bolton boss Sam Allardyce.

The 28-year-old, who played for Derby County in the 2000-1 season, has been released by Kaiserslautern - from where Bolton signed Youri Djorkaeff in February.

"We are in talks with Taribo West's representatives regarding a possible move to the Reebok Stadium," Allardyce told Bolton's website.

"Taribo is quality player with a great deal of experience. He is a player that I would like to have in my squad."

The former Inter Milan central defender played in the two opening group games of the World Cup, and has won 40 caps for his country.

He was also in the same Olympic gold medal-winning team as Okocha in 1996.
