Giovanni Trapattoni says he will not resign, despite Italy's World Cup exit against South Korea.

The veteran Italy coach blamed bad refereeing decisions for Italy's stunning 2-1 defeat.

He also felt that Francesco Totti should not have been sent off in extra-time.

Trapattoni said: "I know that 20 million Italians watched this match - I know what 20 million Italians think."

Asked if he had any intention of quitting the job, 63-year-old Trapattoni added: "I have signed a contract, so it's not up to me.

"I feel full of enthusiasm. I'm already thinking about the European Championships."
