City deny Foe deal
Manchester City have denied a deal has been reached to bring Marc-Vivien Foe to Maine Road.
Lyon announced on their website they had agreed a season-long loan for the Cameroon midfielder, with a view to a permanent move.
However, Manchester City issued a statement on their own website, playing down the speculation.
The statement read: "City have confirmed that no deal has been done with the player or his club.
"Foe has been one of a number of players linked with a move to Maine Road, and although the player has made favourable noises towards returning to the Premiership, City stress no deal has yet been reached."
Foe would Kevin Keegan's sixth new recruit if indeed a deal eventually goes through.
The Maine Road boss has already signed Nicolas Anelka, Sylvain Distin, Vicente Vuoso, Mikkel Bischoff and Tyrone Loran.
Keegan also clinched the signing of former Aston Villa and Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel before the end of the season.
When Anelka completed his move yesterday, Keegan commented: "I am very happy with the way things have gone.
"I expect to make one more signing before the start of the season."
Foe helped Lyon to the title last season after an 18-month spell in England with West Ham.
