Caniggia virtually rules himself out of Nigeria game

Claudio Caniggia admits he is almost certain to miss Sunday's World Cup game against Nigeria.

The Argentina striker is battling to recover from a knee injury.

And the Rangers striker says it would be "very difficult" for him to take part in Sunday's Group F clash.

"Unfortunately, I've suffered a setback," he said on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old suffered a reaction to his injury during a training session on Saturday, and has been sidelined ever since.

His place in the side is likely to be filled by Ariel Ortega.
