Sinclair recalled to replace Murphy

Sven-Goran Eriksson has recalled Trevor Sinclair to the England set-up after Danny Murphy was ruled out of the World Cup.

Eriksson revealed in a press conference in Jeju, Korea, that he had telephoned Sinclair early this morning to leave a message informing him that his services were again required.

Blackburn's David Dunn and Alan Smith of Leeds remain on standby should Eriksson's preparations be hit by further injuries.

Sinclair's recall follows the news that Murphy will miss the tournament with a broken bone in his foot.

Sinclair went home earlier in the week after being left out of Eriksson's 23-man squad, but will fly back to the England training camp this evening.
