Vassell not fazed by place in spotlight

Darius Vassell insists he has not struggled to cope with the switch from virtual unknown Aston Villa striker to instant England hero and claimed: ‘‘I am the most level-headed person about.’’

Vassell is bound for the 2002 World Cup finals after making a quickfire impact under Sven-Goran Eriksson with goals on his debut against Holland in Amsterdam and then in the win over Paraguay at Anfield last month.
