Muscat joins Rangers on free transfer

Alex McLeish has confirmed Rangers have signed Kevin Muscat on a free transfer from Wolves.

Wolves had been angered by the switch through a pre-contract agreement between the Scottish club and Muscat.

The Australia international was out of contract at Molineux.

Ibrox boss McLeish said: "Kevin Muscat signed a few weeks ago. He will bring experience and he is a solid pro.

"We have had good endorsements for him from past coaches, none more so than Eddie Thomsen (the former Australia coach), who I played with at Aberdeen.

"Eddie rates Kevin very highly, but we also did our homework. We watched him in a few games and he looked like he would be a good squad acquisition."
