Wolves pressing for opening goal
Wolverhampton (1) 0-0 (3) Norwich 8pm
Wolves boss Jones knew their best chance of getting back in the semi-final was if they scored an early goal.
They were certainly pumped up, with referee Tony Leake having a word with Nathan Blake after he flattened Gary Holt.
Alex Rae picked out Colin Cameron on the right but his cross was easily taken by Norwich keeper Robert Green.
Holt was again in the wars and needed brief treatment following a challenge from Rae.
Wolves were having the majority of possession but were left frustrated in the 12th minute when Paul Butler got on the end of Rae’s free-kick, only to head wide.
Norwich looked dangerous on the counter and keeper Andy Oakes had to race out of his area to clear from the on-rushing David Nielsen.
They had a scare in the 17th minute when Mackay sliced a clearance and Green did well to punch over Blake’s close range header.
