Manchester United are believed to be close to signing centre-half Alessandro Nesta from Lazio.
The two clubs are apparently discussing the terms of a £30m (€49m) transfer which could see the Italian international moving to Old Trafford this summer as a replacement for Frenchman Laurent Blanc.
