World Cup: Keown called into England squad

Martin Keown has been called into the England squad for Wednesday's friendly against Paraguay.

The move comes after two defenders pulled out due to injuries sustained in Arsenal's 1-0 FA Cup semi-final win against Middlesbrough.

Keown's Arsenal team-mate Sol Campbell and Ugo Ehiogu both suffered hamstring strains that will keep them out of action for three weeks, while Rio Ferdinand is also injured.

Keown had only just returned from injury.

His recall provides a last chance for him to secure a place in Sven-Goran Eriksson's World Cup squad.
