Premiership: Arsenal sign Kolo Toure

Arsenal have signed Ivory Coast international Kolo Toure following his successful trial period with the London club.

The 20-year-old player impressed Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger in two reserve fixtures against West Ham, but Wenger said he still needs three or four months’ work before he can break into the first team.

Toure, who joins the Gunners from Asec Mimosas for an undisclosed fee, has been a permanent fixture in the Ivory Coast side since 2000 and has recently played in the Africans Nations Cup.
