FAI Cup: Harps cruise to next round

Harps cruised into the FAI Cup third round but had to endure a first-half shock before a late goal surge saw them safe.

The LSL side took a shock lead on 41 minutes when Alan Wallace punished Shane Sweeney's short back pass to chip past John Connolly.

The lead was short-lived, though, as Johnny Kenny headed home a Paddy McGrenaghan corner to equalise 90 seconds later.

Brendan Devenney eased the pressure on Haprs by firing them in front on 71minutes.

Three goals in the final few minutes from Niall Bonner (2) and McGrenaghan ended brave Greystones' challenge to flatter Harps.
