Brazil overcame a sluggish start to beat Chile 2-0 in their World Cup qualifier and improve their chances of reaching next year's tournament.

Edilson and Rivaldo scored in the second half to guarantee the win and push Brazil into fourth place in the South American group behind Argentina, Paraguay and Ecuador.
