Premiership: United win at White Hart Lane

Tottenham 3-5 Manchester United

Manchester United produced one of the most remarkable comebacks in the history of the Premiership as they came from three goals behind at half time to complete an astonishing victory.

In an amazing tale of two halves, Spurs blitzed United with goals from Dean Richards, Les Ferdinand and Christian Zeige.

But the champions hit back after the break in equally devastating fashion, with goals from Andy Cole, Laurent Blanc, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Juan Sebastian Veron and David Beckham, to secure their first win at White Hart Lane for four years.

The game was the English Premiership at its very best and the first three goals were fantastic as Spurs ran riot.

But in the second half United came back with the sort of performance that made everyone wish they had been a fly on the wall in the United dressing room at half time to hear Alex Ferguson’s team talk.

However, a real worry for the United manager, is that his team have this season, had a terrible tendency to leak goals against, what at best, can only be described as mid-table opposition.
