Eircom League: Penalty save gives Dundalk points

Dundalk 1 Derry City 0

Teenager Ger Robinson moved Dundalk into the top half of the table with a second-half minute winner.

But goalkeeper John Connolly was the hero for Dundalk with an 86th minute penalty save.

Connolly chose the right way to palm away Tommy McCallion's spot kick after

Jamie Hughes had been pulled down inside a crowded area.

The winning goal came on 50 minutes when substitute Robinson reacted quickest to fire home the rebound after Derry keeper Russell Payne failed to hold a Jonathan Prizeman shot.
