Soccer: World Cup trophy to be displayed in Ireland

The World Cup trophy is to be displayed in Dublin as part of a world tour to promote next summer’s finals in South Korea and Japan.

The famous gold statuette will be unveiled at a Grafton Street department store by the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and the Irish manager Mick McCarthy.

The trophy is to remain on display until next Monday before it travels on to its next point of destination.
