Soccer: Midfield duo set for return for Magpies

Bobby Robson will unleash Gary Speed and Nolberto Solano in the Intertoto Cup tomorrow night after resting them from Newcastle’s Premiership opener against Chelsea yesterday.

Toon boss Robson admitted he took a gamble by leaving out two of his star midfield men at Stamford Bridge and instead saving them for the clash with Troyes but he breathed a huge sigh of relief after his team battled their way to a 1-1 draw against the Blues.
