Soccer: Rangers hoping for a miracle - Konterman
Rangers star Bert Konterman has claimed manager Dick Advocaat needs a miracle-worker rather than new players at Ibrox.
The Glasgow giants have responded quickly to the departure of Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Jorg Albertz by swooping for £3m German midfielder Christian Nerlinger from Borussia Dortmund.
The 28-year-old is expected to fly in to Glasgow to complete his move to Ibrox within the next 48 hours.
But despite the imminent sale of Tugay Kerimoglu to Blackburn, Konterman is satisfied with the strength of the current Ibrox squad.
Instead the outspoken Dutch international feels that his fellow countryman Advocaat should be channelling his thoughts into finding a miracle-worker to prevent the injuries that crippled them last season.
Konterman said: ‘‘With all the transfer stories and speculation over the summer, I was recently asked who’d be my dream buy for Rangers.
‘‘That’s a difficult question and does it have to be a player? I’m happy with the team we have at the moment.
‘‘Maybe we can buy a miracle man - a specialist who can prevent all the injuries we had last season with voodoo or magic or that kind of thing.’’
