Kenny Cunningham, Gary Breen and Robbie Keane all sat out training yesterday at the AUL complex near Dublin Airport, ahead of Saturday’s qualifier against Portugal at Lansdowne Road, and Wednesday week’s clash with Estonia in Tallinn.

Doubts also hang over Niall Quinn and Gary Kelly, but Irish manager Mick McCarthy said he is hopeful some of the knocks will heal as the week progresses.
