Soccer: Liverpool fans injured in collision
Football fans celebrating Liverpool's European Cup victory were injured today when they were in collision with a car in the city.
The incident took place at 2.35am on Slater Street, a city centre road with several late-opening bars.
A large group were celebrating the 5-4 win over Deportivo Alaves when a silver Volkswagen Golf collided with them.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said several fans had to be taken to the Royal Liverpool Hospital but none of the injuries are life-threatening.
The driver of the car was arrested and is said to be helping police with their inquiries
