Soccer: Blues tribute to Dixie Dean
Everton will unveil a statue at Goodison Park today in tribute to their greatest ever player Dixie Dean.
A specially commissioned bronze statue will be revealed at the Park End of the stadium by Dean's son - also named William Ralph - at a 2.00pm ceremony.
Club officials, including owner and vice-chairman Bill Kenwright, and members of the Dean family, will be in attendance.
Club officials will then move on to St Luke's Church in Goodison Road for the funeral of Gordon Watson.
Watson was the last surviving team-mate of Dean, having served the club as a player, coach and steward. He died aged 87 last weekend.
