Mehmet Scholl will miss Bayern Munich's Bundesliga match on Saturday, but hopes are high he will be back to face Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Scholl suffered an ankle injury in Bayern's 1-0 victory over Madrid in the first leg in midweek.

"Knowing our medical department, I am hopeful," said coach Ottmar Hitzfeld.

"Dr. (Hans-Wilhelm) Mueller-Wohlfahrt will reach into his bag of tricks again and get Mehmet ready."

The Bayern doctor managed to get striker Giovane Elber and midfielder Jens Jeremies fit for the first leg only 12 days after undergoing knee surgery.
