Soccer: No go for 'Battle of Britain'
The Scottish Premier League say a return of the "Battle of Britain" fixture would be welcomed by the fans - but difficult to put into practice.
The full-blooded fixture between the champions of England and Scotland was scrapped because of fears of crowd trouble and clogging up the fixture list.
But following Celtic's championship success, supporters are keen to see the return of the clash.
A spokesman for the SPL said: "Any sporting contest between Scottish and English teams will always capture the imagination of the public.
"And a match between the SPL champions and the FA Premiership champions would certainly be a popular fixture.
"However, fixture congestion remains a big problem for us and could limit such opportunities."
