Premiership: Sheringham only offered one-year deal
Teddy Sheringham could be on his way out of Manchester United in the summer after being offered only a one-year contract extension.
The striker had been hoping for a two-year deal after enjoying a magnificent season at Old Trafford in which he has scored 20 goals.
But United have opted to give the 35-year-old just a £1million one-year deal for next season.
Should Sheringham decide to reject the offer then a host of clubs are sure to be interested in signing him.
West Ham, Charlton and Fulham have all already expressed an interest in the London-born striker, while Middlesbrough and Blackburn could enter the race.
Sir Alex Ferguson is still tracking PSV Eindhoven frontman Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
And should the Dutchman join United in the summer, Sheringham could find himself on the sidelines.
United's chief executive Peter Kenyon told FA-Premier.com: "We have made an offer of another year to Teddy and his advisors and we are awaiting their response.
"He's had a marvellous season and we would like him to stay with the club for another year - but as yet he's not made a decision."
