Premiership: Arsenal pay tribute to the late David Rocastle

Arsenal and Tottenham will line out in black armbands in today's London derby as a tribute to former winger David Rocastle, who died from cancer today.

A period of silence will also be observed before kick-off at Highbury.

Rocastle, a Gunners legend, passed away at the age of just 33.

An Arsenal statement said: "David was a consummate professional and an outstanding talent and it is a terrible shock to everyone associated with Arsenal that David's life has been taken at such a young age."

Rocastle joined Arsenal as an apprentice in 1983 and spent nine years with the club.

He was part of the squad that won the league in 1989 and 1991 and made 277 first-team appearances for Arsenal.

He also won 14 international caps for England.
