Champions League: Figo escapes punishment over booking
Uefa have decided not to punish Luis Figo for allegedly earning a yellow card on purpose during Real Madrid's Champions League clash with Leeds.
Real striker Raul had claimed, on his personal website, that Figo and Claude Makalele set out to pick up bookings.
The red cards would count the duo out of Real's meaningless game against Anderlecht but ensure they began the quarter-finals with clean slates.
Both had already received two bookings, with a third guaranteeing a suspension.
However, the Control and Disciplinary Body announced they would be contacting Uefa's executive committee with the aim of reviewing the current system of yellow-card suspensions.
With Real already qualified as group winners, the Anderlecht result is inconsequential to their progress.
