Premiership: United dispatch Arsenal with six goal thrashing
Manchester Utd have all but ended the Premiership title race as a contest by thrashing second-placed Arsenal 6-1 at Old Trafford.
The home side opened the scoring after just two minutes, when Dwight Yorke side-footed home from six yards following a one-two with Scholes.
The lead lasted just 13 minutes, Thierry Henry squaring matters with a low shot from just inside the area.
A long ball from Keane saw Yorke notch a second two minutes later and his hat-trick was complete in the 22nd minute when he slotted home from another long pass, this time from Beckham.
Yorke then turned provider in the 25th minute, crossing for Keane to volley to the net, despite the attentions of Stepanovs.
Solksjaer added his name to the scoresheet then, finishing beautifully on a low square ball from Butt, before Sheringham added insult to injury with the sixth in injury time.
